Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award Nomination
We were delighted to find out earlier this week that our Artist-in-Residence, Emily Hesse, has been nominated for a prestigious Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award for Artists, which is described by the Guardian as “the art world’s most coveted prize”.
This groundbreaking programme was established in 1993 and aims to “support artists at a timely moment in their careers, giving them the freedom to develop their creative ideas and contributing to their personal and professional growth.”
As Emily’s first year at the school comes to an end it seems a timely acknowledgement of how much her practice has grown since she first captured our imagination, and we wish her all the best and look forward to seeing her go from strength to strength.
You’ll be able to see Emily’s next work for the school, entitled “Letting in the Light”, from 7pm on Thursday 23rd May 2013 launching our first year anniversary celebrations.
